“Upon arriving at about 12:20 pm and check-in, we were not allowed to go to our room because it was “not ready.” We asked if there were any other rooms available we were told no and were made to sit in the lobby. We let the lady know that we had to be at an important event by 1:00 pm she didn’t seem to care. We sat in the lobby for about 30 minutes and by this time it was 1:15 or 1:20 pm. My husband went to the desk again and had a conversation with the lady again and we were finally allowed to go to our room. We quickly got ready, finishing in our car, and arrived at the event at 2:30…the event was on a time constraint and was over at 3:00 pm. The shower head in the room did not work and so we opted to take a bath, but the tub was dirty, water pressure was poor and we had to rinse ourselves off by filling a cup with water and rinsing. Floors were dirty and when the air conditioner came on a very moldy smell would fill the room. NEVER AGAIN will I stay here. Poor customer service and the clerk that we spoke to at the time of check-in was very nonchalant and did not know how to accommodate the customer in a professional way. She did not take the time to nicely help find a better solution. My husband even asked her if we could change in one of the meeting rooms downstairs so that we could make our event on time and come back and check-in she gave a stern “no!”

“We stayed at the Double Tree to avoid the wrath of hurricane Ian. The hotel was packed with people who had evacuated from the storm areas of western Florida. The staff went out of their way to assist the travelers in any way they were asked.
The room was nice and clean.
The hotel is located in an area convenient to local restaurants and shopping.
This is a great place to stay, even under normal circumstances.”
